To the guy who who told me to edit post. there are tons of other posts with irrelevant stuff. i didnt see u jumping on them.
I am trying to be as close to relevant as I can be. As i said, a past legislation doesn't mean future legislation would be same BUT it definitively give us a lesson what we should strive to prevent....
and whatever the 2006 and 2007 legislation were - they were. I didn't made them up myself. So, I cant edit them...lol...

Most of the corporate companies wont ask until you get through the interview. It is ideal to have it on hand so that If they ask you, you should be in a position to provide them.
If you apply for SSN with EAD card, you will receive the SSN card in a week time. In case of H1B, it takes about 4-8 weeks to receive the SSN card on hand.

My AP status was changed to Document mailed on 10/29 but i didn't receive anything yet. Heard that Lawyer would be receiving them if you have signed G28.
Keep in touch with your lawyer and ask them to forward it to you as soon as they receive. Otherwise, some lawyers will take their own sweet time to send it.

We are in a critical situation. My wife's AP was approved on 10/18 and the current status is "Document Mailed on 11/05". It also says "You should receive the document within 30 days".
Our flight to India is on 11/15 and we are wondering typically how long it takes for us to receive the physical paper after the status changed to "Document Mailed".
Can you please share your experience?

I see each Attroney has different opinion on PD retaing when previous employer cancel the i140.

I came back to US on Mar 30 2008 using advance parole. The officer wrote on I-94 , paroled until Mar 29, 2008 (I am assuming its an oversight).
I didnt detect the oversight till yesterday. What my current status and what actions should I take to rectify the error.
I am still working for my employer that sponsored the H1B which is valid till Feb 2009, although the stamp on the passport was valid only till Feb 2008

For I-485 Applicant, it is not of much significance.
At POE, AP is stamped for one year (with I-94), but when it expires, it does not matter. One can continue working on H1 or EAD. And if someone is in USA on H4 (and not working on EAD) also remains in vaild status.
So there should not be any reason to worry, however, as suggested by "kshitijnt" better to get in touch with USCIS and let them do corrective action as required.
Please post your experience afterwards.

My Situation:
1. Entered into USA using H1B Visa
2. Changed the job and now working using EAD
3. In othyer words, my status would be AOS Pending...
Now question is there is no "AOS Pending" status in that dropdown. SO, I am confused about chosing the correct status...
The nearest ones that I am thinking are "parolee" or "UNKNOWN"

One of the clients is not considering EAD as a valid document to enter their facilities. Funny thing is their security team are ok if you have valid visa and I94 but not EAD.
I think this is more of ignorance about EAD.
Can some provide doucumentation which says discrimination of EAD is violation of Law? or some thing that says EAD is a valid document to work adn stay in the country.
I 9 form does have i 766 as valid entry.
