I think we should still concentrate on taking to Sen. McCains office. Immigration reform was his pet project and now that the election is over he can muster up the bipartisan effort required to move this forward. Immigration is not high on Obamas agenda and i doubt you will see action from him on that issue. The other option is to keep pushing for the 5882 during the lame duck session.
Meeting the first lady will be a waste of time and efforts...imo.

This question put me to shame. We are trying to become US citizens and we do not even know Havaii is a US state.
Before posting this did you even think that the ship may be crossing international waters and US immigration laws may not hold good in that region? Were you not too quick to judge one's competency?

For parents I am not comfortable with the statement "and that________father�s name) is his/her father and _____________ (mother�s name) is his/her mother."
So just dig a little and there were members who have posted the sample for parents and close relative.

Most of the Multinational executives are people who are managing their people(Onsite Project Managers and Onsite Co-ordinators) at the client locations and managing client relationship.
What I mean is, when you compare a NIW person( who is in research fields and publishes numerous papers and dedicated his/her life in scientific research, should be given preference over the Executive. EB1 belongs to exceptional individuals.
The general requirement is that the individual should have risen to the "top of her/his field of endeavor."
(i) as demonstrated by national or international acclaim
(ii) which should be recognized through extensive documentation and
(iii) the alien should continue the work in the same field and
(iv) would substantially benefit the U.S. prospectively

Hi,
I am one of many people here waiting for the date to be able to apply for I-485 because of visa retrogression. I have 3 more H-1 years so I am considering changing a job in category EB2 so the process can be faster (my PD is Jan 2004 with approved I-140). My question is whether this position below can be considered in EB2 or not. To my knowledge on Eb2, it must be more than 5 years experience with BS or MS. I have a MS, but my work experience in US is total 4 years 4 months (intern 10 months in US during MS + 11 months with OPT after MS + 2yrs6months with H-1B).
This is just a part of the job description:
- BS Degree plus 3-5 Yrs experience or MS Degree plus 2 Yrs experience.

I will start another thread regarding that, however. I want to ask about enforcing referential integrity and self-incrementing unique id's.

I am sure many of you would agree with the below observations -
I lost money in the 2001 stock market because I believed that the market could never down based on all the glorious research reports..
I lost money again in 2005 as I bought a house believing that a house value can only go up, again reading all the real estate boom that was happening around.
Now, I keep reading that the Indian market is oh-so good that everyone should go back to India to live in the villas and ride around in the chauffeured cars:)
Hmm, as always, I have been the last one to get on the boat before it went under. So, with all pun intended, what Indian ETF should I start investing and when should I buy my one-way ticket :rolleyes:
As my mom always says - Mountains always look smooth from a distance. This time I think I will stay put and wait it out for my GC..
Agreed it is not good to blindly trust the media. Stocks, housing, 401K - financial institutions have a vested interest in getting a bulk of your investments and are big political contributors and fund some media outlets.
But who would benefit if a reputed London company talks against US immigration, not the UK. This is not even an Indian news paper.
But your GC is close anyway so its good to wait, but try to find an unbaised opinion, only your friends and relatives may be able to help you out with reality.

Hello Gurus,
Soon after we filed our I-485 in July 07 we went to India as my mother was not feeling well. When my wife and I were in India we got Finger print appointment notices, which we postponed around 8 times. In May 08 we came to US specially to give our finger prints and we did. Few weeks after we gave our Finger prints, My wife went to India to take care of my mom.
Yesterday, we AGAIN got Finger print appointment notices. It does not say if USCIS was unable to read our finger prints or anything, It is a regular FP notices.
Since I am here in the US, I do not mind giving FP's again, but my wife is in India and she cannot give FP now. Another thing is we applied for H1 extension, She cannot come until I get my H1 and she get's it stamped. We do not have AP to travel.
The day we gave our FP's, USCIS has put stamps on our FP appointment notices with the details. I have these notices with me. Are these of any help ???

They say 2months for I-129 (H1B) and mine is pending since May. These processing dates mean nothing
